JOB OBJECTIVE
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Workshop Controller to support the day-to-day operations of the service workshop. The Workshop Controller must coordinate technician job tracking, manage parts requisitions, maintain attendance records, and handle job costing, including warranty and non-warranty work. The Workshop Controller also serves as a backup to the Technical Officer, ensuring smooth workflow on the floor in their absence.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- To request parts through the repair order process as directed by the Workshop Supervisor or Service Manager.
- To ensure that technicians are properly clocked onto service orders and that each operation line is clocked accordingly.
- To maintain and update technician attendance records via Sicorax.
- To generate and provide reports related to absenteeism, sick leave, and other attendance metrics as required.
- To be responsible for accurate costing of job cards including warranty, extended warranty, and both cash and credit transactions.
- To actively participate in the month-end closing process by ensuring all completed jobs are properly closed and documented.
- To act as a backup to the Technical Officer on the floor, assisting in managing technical workflows and ensuring operational continuity.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in a similar administrative or workshop support role is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
- Familiarity with workshop management software and job costing procedures.
- Proficiency in Sicorax or similar attendance tracking systems is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
