Meet the Peugeot Landtrek – the first Peugeot Pickup on the Mauritius Market.

Mauritians have an insatiable appetite, love, and passion for pickups, but the Landtrek is up against a horde of well-established models. Does it stand a chance? We got to discover what this Lion has to offer during the launch at the Chasse Bar Le Duc.

For the past weeks, some social media commentators have been suggesting that every new pick-up on the market is a Navara-based product, but this is NOT the case with the Landtrek. On the contrary, Landtrek is a result of Peugeot and its Chinese joint venture partner Changan Automobile. The more seasoned petrolheads among us can attest that the Landtrek is not Peugeot’s first rodeo in the Pickup market; and to prove it to them, the automotive press was invited on the 9th of March at Chasse Bar Le Duc at St Pierre to review and test the Landtrek.

We started the day off by welcoming everyone from the automotive press around a cup of coffee and discovering the beast before we set off to the rugged road to test the Landtrek. The Peugeot Landtrek sports the stylish signature of the Lion brand on its front and under the hood, a 1.9 liters diesel engine developing 150 horsepower.

As Jean Claude Leclezio, Brand Manager of Peugeot welcome the press and presented the vehicle, we could feel the excitement in the air and urge to test the pickup. Without a moment of delay, everyone was assigned to their vehicle and off we went. The rocky roads were unlocked with the latest technology and off-road driving aid and highlight its robustness.

After this experience, the Peugeot Landtrek proved to be a real 4X4 with no problems on rough roads or overcoming obstacles at the Chasse Bar Le Duc. The Peugeot Landtrek is a very well-designed double cab pick-up with a good level of equipment and finish, a vehicle that is very attractive to both entrepreneurs and family car buyers. Thanks to its adaptability and reliability, the Peugeot Landtrek has what it takes to meet the needs of a segment considered particularly demanding.
