Ford represented by AXESS and in partnership with the ENL Foundation is relaunching the Drive 4 UR Community program.
This initiative aims at raising funds for the Pailles Ouest-based School Support Programme implemented by the ENL Foundation.
Education is the catalyst towards social change and sustainable communities. This is one of the reasons Ford supports such an initiative that contributes toward a better future, thus improving living standards.
The association’s project focuses on better educational and school follow-up for young people in need of additional help to maximise their chances of success in the future.
What is Drive 4 UR Community?
For over a decade, Ford has been committed to donating a share of its profits to various NGOs to support those who are in greatest need.
In the same spirit, Ford not only supports the educational pillar, but also goes further to help those who have been victims of natural disasters or those in a famine situation. Ford also supports art and culture movements and celebrates diversity.
The Drive 4 UR School project was set up in 2007 to help Ford dealerships raise money for schools by organising a driving day. The resounding success of ‘Drive 4 UR School’ prompted Ford to expand its reach and create ‘Drive 4 UR Community’ in 2012 to enable dealers to partner with community organisations.

How to participate?
Ford is organizing a total of 4 ‘Drive Events’ in various locations across the island throughout 2022 to secure the Ford Global Giving pledge. Owners are invited to join us in their vehicles for this drive, as physical participation will be the qualification factor to reaching our objective for the NGO.
For each validated participation, Ford will donate Rs 2,000 to the ENL Foundation’s Pailles School Support Program, aiming to gather a total of 20 vehicles with 40 participants to raise Rs 40,000 per event.
As a result of the donations received from the first two events, Ford and ENL Foundation will be installing an outdoor awning, resurfacing the school’s flooring, painting the interior walls, installing efficient lights and improve the overall space segmentation. Furnitures and fittings will be upgraded from donations received from the 3rd and 4th events.

About ENL Foundation?
Overview

About the initiative
ENL Foundation, with the help of its fieldworker in Pailles/GRNW established the School Support Program and since 2010, the project is implemented in the 5 regions where ENL Foundation operates. The mentors are mostly community leaders who are not teachers but who have been able to successfully complete their schooling up to secondary school and who want to give back to their community and give their time once a week to the children.
The children in the area were facing significant difficulties in school and the success rate at the CPE level was only 30%. A total of 200 children benefit from the remedial classes program. Since the program has been in place, the progress of the children in the different regions is reflected in a 90% success rate in the children’s exams from 2010 to 2020. These efforts must be sustained to further consolidate their performance.
